Two weeks ago I photographed a family of 5. Mom, dad, and three boys. The following week I photographed another family of 5. Mom, dad and three girls.

It was fun to see the difference between the two. I grew up in a family of 3 girls so I can relate. It actually felt like I was looking back at my sisters and I 15 years ago.

When I arrived to the house I noticed the cutest little play house. Right away I wanted to take some pictures of the girls playing in it. I have lots more photos from this session coming soon but I wanted to share a couple now.

When I was a little girl I dreamed of having a play house like this. So cute.

After a few minutes I told the girls to give me some sass. They didn’t disappoint.

BAM. Sass attack. I knew they had it. Like I said, I used to be one.

I’ve shared lots of little sneak peeks of this session and I’m finally done with it. Here are another few of my favorites from this session in the field of flowers (which is sadly gone now, it only lasts a couple weeks and we hit it perfect).

I love this one. She was walking with her mom and gave me just a little glance.

I like texture, but I don’t like to overly saturate a photo with texture because I think it can take away some of the beauty of the original. However, when I find a photo that is very abstract, I can usually find a great way to texture it and turn it into something that would look awesome on a canvas.

That is what I did with this photo, and I really love it. I’m definitely going to blow this one up onto a canvas for my office.

One more from yesterday…

Lately I’ve been shooting with my 70-200mm lens. I’m so in love with this lens. I used to always shoot with my wide angle, but have really grown to love this big clunky lens. I used it to shoot this photo at 2.8.
